Connectivity prob: police prefer TM Network to Tetra for CWG

New Delhi, Sep 26 (India Report )
Agencies involved in providing security for Commonwealth Games today raised concerns about using the Tetra Network for communication, saying connectivity was a problem and that they prefer the TM network.
The issue was raised at a security review meeting convened by Union Home Secretary G K Pillai with senior police officials at the Delhi Police Headquarters this evening.
When asked for a feedback on Tetra (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) network, sources said the senior officials pointed out that connectivity was a"big problem"and communication was affected.
Sources said Pillai was apprised about the difficulties faced by personnel in using the TETRA network for communication.
The officials said they preferred the TM (Top Management) Network for communication."Most probably, we may go back to TM Network but a decision is not taken yet,"a senior police official said.
Asked whether the TETRA system was complicated, the official said it was not complicated but connectivity is a"big problem".
