European champion English hurdler Dai Greene is unhappy that several star athletes have pulled out of the Commonwealth Games, saying they would gave gone under any conditions had it been Olympics.
Several top cyclists, including Greene&aposs compatriot Olympic champion Geraint Thomas, star tennis players and other athletes have withdrawn from the Games due to various reasons ranging from security to health fears.
However, the Welsh 400m hurdler said he is committed to participate in the Games.
"I think a lot of people would definitely have gone out there if it was the Olympic Games. It&aposs disappointing that some of them don&apost stand it in as high a regard,"Greene said.
The unhealthy conditions at the Games village drew sharp criticism from the visiting delegates and it led to may more pull outs.
Team Wales has already confirmed its participation in the October 3-14 event in New Delhi.
Greene said the Welsh team is happy with the accommodation being provided to them.
"I&aposve been in close contact with the guys at Team Wales, I know they&aposve been over there for the past couple of weeks sorting things out. They&aposve been well ahead of schedule and they&aposve found the problems very early.
"In terms of accommodation for Team Wales it&aposs slightly different to where Team England and Team Scotland are staying and we&aposve had the thumbs up and everything&aposs OK,"Greene told BBC Radio 5 live.
Greene also said that players who have pulled out should not be criticised.
"I don&apost think any athlete would be looked at badly if they were to withdraw from the competition. But as far as I&aposm concerned I&aposve had loads of reassurances from Team Wales and everything in our camp looks very good,"he said.
The champion hurdler also said that he has an unfinished task to do at this edition of the Games since he could not participate in the 4X400m in previous edition.
"Four years ago in Melbourne I didn&apost get to run, I was told the day of the heats of the 4x400m that we were going to pull out. So I&aposve definitely got some unfinished business and to do it in a Welsh vest means that little bit more really.
