Satisfied with the improvement made in the condition of the Athletes Village, Wales Chef de Mission Chris Jenkins today said the crisis-hit Commonwealth Games would be a spectacular success, provided the competing nations keep up the pressure on the organisers.,
Jenkins said his country never said that it would pull out of the Games but was just buying time and finally confirmed yesterday after witnessing significant improvement in the condition of the Village.
"We were never undecided about our participation. In fact, there is a massive amount of improvement in standard of cleanliness, hygiene etc. So we decided yesterday that we would just move in,"he said.
"We have been here for the last two weeks, pressing people to get things done. Last night we looked at the accommodation and they looked great.
