Is India Set For Security At Commonwealth Games?

India is all set to welcome the world in the next month October. This event is going to be the ever most expensive commonwealth games in the history of hosting of the all nineteen commonwealth games. With all world-standard systems and technologies, Delhi is primed with contemporary and ultra-special facilities and services yet exhibiting its rich heritage and culture from welcome of the guests, beautification of the city to traffic management, security provisions and maintenance. Even the petty issues are not ignored for the security at the event.
Indian Government is specially geared up with special teams and panels to counter the challenges of high-risk terrorism during the grand event.The final countdown on security arrangements has begun with the installation of special CCTV cameras, metal detectors, anti-sabotage drill conductions, access-control system (biometric cards are issued to police commandos and authorized people to enter sports venues), special transport security and other security gadgets.
However, the jittery over recent firing and explosion near Jama Masjid has pressed the panic button of some Commonwealth Games participantsand some countries have shown their concerns over the matter, but the Indian Government is fully prepared to slap in the face of any terrorism attack. Government is quick in stating that the Indian government has arranged for extensive and robust security architecture for the athletes for Commonwealth Games gala.
All sports-related and non-sports related venues are under special security measures and the athletes would be fully guarded. The incident does not hold any evidence of terrorist attack; it is a handiwork of local criminals and situation is under the control as per senior officials of the police. Each venue for the Commonwealth Games will have a tight security ring and special arrangements will be made to transport the athletes to and from the Games Village. Security provisions are planned for all sportspersons, foreign and domestic visitors. Above all, about one-lakh of security personnel will be deployed on the ground, who are expressly trained on the use of the high-end devices and special martial arts. A four-tier security apparatus with absolute Army back up will be put in place throughout the grand event. Helicopters carrying commando snipers will keep an eye on the convoy.
Another fear-factor for Delhi is the security against the vector-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria and swine flu.Many countries had taken note of the reports on dengue and sought explanation from the government. Government convinces that it has taken all care and measures on the health count. In addition, Government has issued a health advisory for athletes, guests and visitors for precaution. Hygiene is at the top priority at the Commonwealth Games for the nation, in which co-operation from all participants and visitors is requested. Free of charge consultation, diagnosis, tests, and treatments will be provided by the Government. Therefore, there is nothing to worry much, yet precautions are always obligatory.
