Kuala Lumpur, Sept 26 (India Report )
The Olympic Council of Malaysia president Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja&aposafar on Sunday, warned its athletes participating in upcoming Commonwealth Games to take necessary prevention against the deadly dengue fever.
"While the sports village is well-designed and the facilities good, the only worrying situation is the monsoon rain and the escalating number of dengue cases in New Delhi,"he was quoted as saying by a local news agency.
Tunku Imran stated that Malaysian athletes must be wary of the mosquitoes"stinging attack"which could hurt their chances to win medals.
About 300 Malaysian athletes will participate in a range of sports events including aquatics, archery, athletics, badminton and boxing.
There were also reports that the Malaysian athletes didn&apost get proper sleep last night as workers were busy cleaning up the adjacent areas. The noise due to the cleanliness drive hampered their sleep.
The Games has been marred by controversies as nations threatened to pull out amid worries about security, a bridge collapse and the state of the facilities.
