Organisers took a lackadaisical approach to CWG: Huegill

Melbourne (26 September ,2010),(India Report ).
Australian swimmer Geoff Huegill slammed organisers of the crisis-hit Commonwealth Games for their"lackadaisical approach"and said countries hosting such major events in future need to learn a lesson from the problems facing the Delhi Games.
The 31-year-old Sydney Olympic 50 metres butterfly bronze medallist took a sabbatical after the 2004 Olympics in Athens and would be returning to major international competition with the October 3-14 event.
"It&aposs a little bit distressing, from an athlete&aposs point of view, for the fact that the organisers couldn&apost get it prepared on time, and they did take a lackadaisical approach to it. That&aposs a little disappointing,"Huegill told Australian Associated Press.
"But I guess these are lessons learnt for all of the future countries going to be hosting major events,"said Huegill, one of the most experienced members of the 46-strong swimming squad for Delhi.
The Australian squad will arrive in India on Wednesday after leaving Sydney yesterday for a camp in Kuala Lumpur.
