Queen's baton continues its onward journey in Haryana

Chandigarh, Sep 28 (India Report)
Queen&aposs Baton Relay of the Commonwealth Games was accorded warm welcome by the people of Haryana as it reached Gohana in Sonepat district today.
Sonepat Member of Parliament Jitender Singh Malik received the Baton at Devi Lal Stadium, Gohana.
There was enthusiasm for the Baton Relay and people thronged the venue.
A number of old and young people and children welcomed the relay by waving the tri-colour.
Addressing the gathering, Convenor Queen&aposs Baton Relay Alka Lamba said that the baton would arrive at the 2010 Games opening ceremony on October 3 after visiting the other 70 nations of the Commonwealth and passing throughout India, reaching millions of people to join the celebrations for the Games.
Malik honoured international players including Arjuna Awardee Yogeshwar Dutt Sharma and Ramesh Guleia and Dhyan Chand Awardee Kuldeep Malik by presenting them with shawl and bouquet.
