Wales to to go to Games as planned

London, Sep 23 (IndiaReport)
Convinced by the assurances given by the CWG organisers to CGF that all glitches will be fixed in time, Wales today said its contingent would leave for New Delhi as planned.
Wales had put on hold its departure and had given a deadline to the organisers to put things in order by Wednesday.
Scotland, which has already delayed the departure of its athletes, also came out with positive signals, saying that it was"heartened"by the progress made by the organisers.
"The Commonwealth Games Federation has received assurances from the Delhi 2010 Organising Committee that all venues and village are fit for purpose.
"We are confident in the assurances that have been provided. The advance party will now be moving into our accommodation and we look forward to welcoming our athletes in the coming days,"Wales said in a statement.
The Scottish official also issued a statement in which they expressed happiness that the state government of the host city was putting up efforts to clear the mess.
"We are heartened that Sheila Dikshit has personally taken control of the situation and ensuring that the necessary additional resources are brought in,"Jon Doig, who is Team Scotland&aposs representative in Delhi, said in a statement.
"We have continued to make progress addressing the maintenance and operational issues within our own accommodation block and things are looking much better,"he added.
Doig said soon they will be able to confirm the departure of their teams.
