Bangalore, Sep 30 (India Report)
Not the negative news-flow but performance of the Commonwealth Games-bound Indian athletes should have been at the centre of attention on the run-up to the event, feels legendary tennis player Vijay Amritraj.
"The most important thing is to make sure that athletes get everything they want and I have a feeling that they have. Indian team seems to be very happy with everything. Now, the bottom line is how many medals we are going to win,"Amritraj told media.
"The most important thing is performance of the athletes. I think, once these two weeks are over, the issue is going to be, you know, where did we end up on the medal tally,"he added.
Asked about the criticism regarding Delhi&aposs preparations for the Games, he said the most important thing is,"We are in this all together. Image of the country is critical and vital, especially overseas.
"I think, that (the negative reports) is unfortunate. Its everyone&aposs business to be able to put us into limelight.
