Australian chef-de-mission Steve Monghetti and Indian table-tennis player Poulomi Ghatak today joined the steadily growing chorus of praise for the Commonwealth Games Village, saying that the facilities and security there are top class.
"We are feeling safe and secure. The environment is good in the Village and we have also talked to our High Commission. They have said there is no change in security. I wish the Games are a success. There is also transport to go to the venues. There is no problem, it&aposs good,"Monghetti said.
Ghatak said the facilities at the Village were better than the accommodation provided at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
"The Games village is really very good. I don&apost know why people talk so negative. Rooms are nice and spacious and every room has attached bathroom, balcony, washing machine, LCD TV etc.I liked it,"she said.
"I would like to say, this time the staying condition is better than that of Melbourne in 2006. There was no air conditioning in Melbourne and the weather was warm. This time it is better. I am feeling safe The rooms in the village are more spacious than the Melbourne village.
Asked about the reported theft at the Village, Ghatak said,"I am not aware of the incident. If it happened It&aposs not good
