Senior officers of the paramilitary forces looking after the deployment of nearly 18,000 personnel for the Commonwealth Games security are yet to get accredition cards from the Organising Committee.Only the Directors General of the forces are the lucky ones to get their cards while others run for their accredition from pillar to post, sources said.
About 18,000 paramilitary personnel have been deployed for securing the Games. All venues are guarded by the men from central forces like NSG, BSF, CISF, ITBP and CRPF, who have been put at the disposal of the Delhi Police.
Each force was asked for names of a limited number of officers for whom passes were to be issued.
But the sources said it has been more than 10 days that the names were sent to the accredition committee and till now only the force&aposs chiefs have got it.
"Even the Deputy Inspector General and Inspector General of Police who is in charge of security from our force is yet to get accredition,"a senior official who did not wish to be identified said.
The official said he understands that not every senior officer can be given pass but those in the list should have received it by now.
