Zambian boxers look forward to strong competition from India

New Delhi, Sep 29 (India Report)
They were concerned about Delhi&aposs preparedness for the Commonwealth Games before landing here but having settled down at the Athletes&aposVillage, Zambian boxers are now worried about the tough Indian challenge that awaits them inside ring.
"Our boxers have worked hard for Delhi 2010. The four hour training schedule focuses on endurance and fitness training, tactics and mock bouts,"said coach Wisdom Mudenda.
"I am hopeful that Brian Mwabu in the 52kg category and Martin Chibela (60kg) will showcase their best. Indian boxers will be in good shape and we look forward to them being our toughest competitors across categories,"he added.
Mudenda said Ghana will also offer a strong challenge to them. He was hopeful that young Zambian sensation Christopher Katanga (49kg), will surprise the competition.
Godfrey Mumba, a World Championship qualifier in the 69kg category, is optimistic of putting up a good performance.
The Zambian boxers and coach Mudenda praised the training and residential facilities at the Games Village.
"We were a little worried about the preparations till we landed here. We are extremely delighted to see the arrangements made for the international athletes, specially the dining area and the training facilities are outstanding."said Mudenda
"India is ready to host the Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi and I am sure that we will have a memorable experience."he added
