Amidst ever-rising controversy surrounding the upcoming Commonwealth Games, a three-day Commonwealth International Sports Science Congress started here today which will promote various aspects of sports science.
The Congress is a part of the Commonwealth Games and is held every fours years before the start of the quadrennial event.
The 14th edition of the conference was inaugurated by Haryana education minister Geeta Bhukkal at Manavrachana International.
The conference will host around 100 delegates from the 71 Commonwealth countries and will deal on contemporary issues of sports medicine, sports training and technological innovations, sports economics among others.
"The host country organises the Congress before every Commonwealth Games. The event is an attempt to promote sports science,"said Dr M Jegathesan, Medical Advisor of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF).
