OC spents Rs 4,50,000 on Hooper's house rent

New Delhi, Sep 27 (India Report)
Commonwealth Games Federation CEO Mike Hooper&aposs lifestyle has come under the scanner with a TV channel claiming that the organising committee is spending a huge sum of tax-payers money on him.
&aposTimes Now&apostoday claimed that Hooper has been living a lavish lifestyle in New Delhi, courtesy the Indian taxpayer.
Mike Hooper&aposs accomodation for the last 26 months has in fact been funded by the CWG Organising Committee and it stands at a whooping Rs 4,50,000, paid on a quarterly basis, the channel claimed.
Besides this, a monthly salary of over 37,000 Rs is being paid by the CWG Organising Committee (OC) to six domestic staff dedicated only to Hooper.
IOA vice-president VK Malhotra said they are collecting information on the amount of money spent on Hooper.
"I don&apost have complete information on this. We are collecting the information as how much we are spending on these people and whether they were present in the earlier Commonwealth Games or not. After we collect the information then we can react properly,"he said.
Hooper has been in the eye of a storm for his disparaging remark against the Indian government and Malhotra said he should not have made such a comment.
"He is working for a long time, naturally as a part of the organising committee, so he shouldn&apost have reacted in such a way,"Malhotra said.
Hooper had said that the government agencies didn&apost act in time and delayed the proceedings.
