South African contingent feels at home in CWG village

New Delhi, Sep 30 (India Report)
Impressed with the Commonwealth Games Village here, the South African contingent is feeling quite at home in the Indian capital.
"Now we feel to be a part of India. We are now in Delhi,"Team SA&aposs Chef de Mission Patience Shikwambana told reporters here today.
Expressing satisfaction about the different facilities at the 63.5 sprawling complex, she said,"We get here whatever we need."
"The place (village) is safe and secure,"she added.
The Chef-de Missions of all the nations living in the Village meet every morning to discuss such issues.
"We are a Commonwealth Games family and the important thing is that if there are challenges we need to work together. In all our meetings that we attend, when we raise issues, we make sure that we give them (organisers) our cooperation in addressing them,"Shikwambana said.
About their expected position in the medals chart at the quadrennial event, she said the South Africans would be happy if they retain the fifth position they managed in the previous edition in Melbourne).
Team South Africa&aposs medal chances have been hurt after their star runner and a gold medal hope, 800m world champion Caster Semenya, pulled out of the games due to a back injury.
Team South Africa were formally welcomed at the village yesterday by Mayor Dalbir Singh at a colorful ceremony.
